Through the tree shot with Sr. That is one healthy trout in his prime. This year with high water flows these trout are a good 3 inches bigger than last year, due to fighting the higher currents, and realitively un molested the days we either fished else where or on a different section of the lower Provo river.
Dry Creek, which is sterile hence it's name, it is not very productive fishery, but amazing and a 2 hr hike from Alpine, Utah. By mid August it no longer exists, at-least the water. This year the water fall flows where the biggest I have seen in 10 years, the power was amazing.

The demo cast hook a trout phenomenon. Turned out to be a great fish, and put up a hell of a battle. The current water conditions are high, running at about 800 cfs ( cubic feet per second ), which is high, but will get a few hundred cfs higher as things warm up. Deer creek reservoir is maxed out, so we could be in for a long period of high water fishing conditions. Many anglers struggle with success in high water, for me, I thrive when the lower flows are heavy. As you can see from the photos, high water did not keep trout off our hooks. We caught a pile, for lack of a better fishing term for a ton of fish.Book your trip and take advantage of no crowds and big wild fish, as well as a free photo video album, you cannot go wrong. http://www.parkcityeXcursions.com edit
This kid could fish, he had a couple treble hook silver spoons he would sling out there and was whacking fish right out in front of the main lodge. There were large numbers of Cased Cad-dis, by I switched to a sculpin pattern after I saw him having such success right there. One thing you learn real quick when fishing new waters, this is not the Provo river. Obvious, but a guides home water and go to strategies are often only will take you so far when you 24 hours by plane from home.
Still water spook,
This was about two miles in from the main river, about the size of the Provo river, running at 5, 600 cfs. Caught some good fish in it, but spent the majority of my time fishing the main river. As you can see, there is more than one option as far as fishing opportunities, not to mention several other smaller off shoots that I fished bit here and there as well. Some were about the size of little Deer Creek, or Walsburge running at less than a hundred CFS.
