4 years ago, fish this size filled this stream. Poor management, which red necks love destroyed this fishery in a matter of a few years. 8 fish limit and no size regulations. I litterally watched stringer after stringer pulled out this section. That's how delicate trout fisheries are, and this was a great example of what can happen in a matter of months. Which is a shame as these are unique species that spawn in the fall, most rainbow trout spawn during other of season.
This brown trout has a bit of a belly, we were at 8,000 feet of elevation, which means it gets colder quicker, and the browns start developing eggs at this time, and spawn in late Sept, to early Oct.
