I litterally watched stringer after stringer pulled out this section. That's how delicate trout fisheries are, and this was a great example of what can happen in a matter of months. Which is a shame as these are unique species that spawn in the fall, most rainbow trout spawn during other of season.
Dry Creek, which is sterile hence it's name, it is not very productive fishery, but amazing and a 2 hr hike from Alpine, Utah. By mid August it no longer exists, at-least the water. This year the water fall flows where the biggest I have seen in 10 years, the power was amazing.

Monster Middle River pig, caught in July of 2011. We are starting to see some quality fish returning to this top notch fishery, which is a great sign.
Postured brown trout, from yesterdays fly fishing trip on the Provo river. Good looking brown, happy to see the fishery is in top notch health, and rather than going from good to bad, the Provo just keeps getting better, to the point where Utah fisheries biologist have encouraged people to keep fish as to keep a good healthy habitat, so trout like the above, are norm, and the Provo river is just about there.
Jamie Dupray, from who makes the Provo a yearly fishing trip, and claims the Provo river is the best fishery in the west. I would have to agree with him on that. The Provo River is tough to beat when all is taken into account. Guided fly fishing trip with Park CIty Excursions fly fishing.
