Fly fishing artistic photography, shots and Edits of Utah fly fishing trips on the Provo river, Weber river, Strawberry river, and many other fishing locations in Utah. Utah has endless trout habitat and much of which is rarely fished. Utah fly fishing photography and video give the fisherman ideas and areas to fish here in Utah. However, to with the endless amounts of water make it tricky to know when and where these fish are. That's where the trial and error, not to mention the years the Utah fishing guides have spent in the back country pay off big. If you have the time, great get out there and use your senses and look for water that has the look, if it's easily accessed off the side of the road, I generally jump out, check the health of the aquatic insect life, and if it looks good the probability that the fishery is viable very may well be in your favor. At that point, during the summer, pull out a dry dropper rig, with your dropper ties off the bend of the hook. Length is debatable, but go three feet from your stimulator or an arm reach out of tipp-et. I like to get down and roll through those rocks where the trout are likely to be stationed. Hit a few bends with a stimulator and a buggy looking tungsten bead headed pheasant tail mix. Hit a few bends and keep your eyes open for fish along the banks. I do not no how many times I have done this but this is how I have located some of the best water in Utah. The smart thing to do is hire one of us for a day and show the ways of the seasoned Utah guide, much will be learned and will pay off for years in fish caught, and doing it right as opposed to a learning curve that can take years. I wish I had the chance to come out with someone like myself and be educated on volumes of information that would have made me into the fisherman and guide I have become. I would have arrived there much faster had a ponied up a few bucks and learned the ways of seasoned Utah fishing guide.A little tough though when your broke and going to school be become part of corporate America, If I had I known that ten years later, that I still would still be guiding the Provo river, and still broke, I would have made different decisions Anyway, such is life, and such is the devotion to most dreams. These trips are not generally offered but just call and ask, and we will set it up if you are serious about really becoming a well rounded Utah Fly fisherman or better yet, a "Utah Fly Fishing Pro". A leader package out of my great grand father's leather fly pouch/ box. I need to locate the date on this stuff, put he was from New York, where I too was born. I imagine his fly fishing gear is from the turn of the century, fly fishing family relics.
Trout tail.
Brown trout caught on April 15th 2011 by a client on a Park City Excursions guided fly fishing trip. Amazing close up of a brown trout, allows you to see the intricate details of the fish.
Messing around with photo editing tools on fly fishing shots taken on the Provo river.
