Pat and Dave fly fishing Utah. This was the largest guide trip I have been a part of, 116 people. To avoid the crowds, and to give Pat and Dave a action packed adventure, I took them to some spawning Rainbows and we had a blast. It took us a bit of tromping around and bush waking to arrive in one piece. The trek in was well worth the effort. It was a near perfect day, minus Pat taking a digger in the mud on the way to the sea world. They each caught thirteen fish, with Pat landing a super large rainbow, and the weather was as good as it gets. Earlier, at the Montage hotel in Deer valley, it was snowing, so we really lucked out in more ways then one. I edited a few photos, which are on page 4, check em out!
4 years ago, fish this size filled this stream. Poor management, which red necks love destroyed this fishery in a matter of a few years. 8 fish limit and no size regulations. I litterally watched stringer after stringer pulled out this section. That's how delicate trout fisheries are, and this was a great example of what can happen in a matter of months. Which is a shame as these are unique species that spawn in the fall, most rainbow trout spawn during other of season.
